The best time to visit Greenland depends on what you want to experience. Summer (June to August) offers mild weather and the midnight sun, perfect for hiking and wildlife watching. Winter (November to March) is ideal for seeing the Northern Lights and experiencing dog sledding. Spring and fall offer unique experiences with fewer tourists.
The main gateways to Greenland are through Iceland and Denmark. Air Greenland and Air Iceland Connect operate regular flights to various destinations in Greenland. We can assist with arranging all transportation as part of your travel package.
Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark but is not in the Schengen Area. However, as most travelers pass through Denmark or Iceland to reach Greenland, you may need a Schengen visa. Citizens of the EU, US, Canada, Australia, and many other countries don't need a visa for short stays. Contact us for specific visa requirements based on your nationality.
The official languages of Greenland are Greenlandic (an Inuit language) and Danish. English is widely spoken in tourist areas, hotels, and restaurants, especially in larger towns. Our guides are multilingual and can communicate in English, Danish, and Greenlandic.
